Today, RÚV English Radio returns to Hafnarfjörður Museum.
The museum (https://byggdasafnid.is/en/) extends across a number of buildings. Sívertsen’s House (https://byggdasafnid.is/en/exhibition/sivertsens-husid/) is the oldest house in Hafnarfjörður, built in 1803 by Bjarni Sívertsen. He was a great entrepreneur in Hafnarfjörður, one of the first Icelanders to get a trade licence in Iceland, and given the title “The Father of Hafnarfjörður.” His house has been restored to its original state and shows how an upper-class family in Hafnarfjörður lived at the beginning of the 19th century.
Árni Pétur Árnason again guides Darren around the house and the exhibition.
