Today on RÚV English Radio, the American visitor who stayed alive while lost and injured in east Iceland for five days.
Joey Syta, an artist from the USA, had set out on a hike late one evening, intending to stay in an abandoned farmhouse near the fjord to watch the sunrise. However, he passed it unknowingly and continued all the way into Loðmundarfjörður, where he fell in rocky terrain. He injured his back, hip, and foot and was unable to return.
Upon his rescue and safe return, he told RÚV about his experience.
