Today on RÚV English Radio, a very important Icelandic footballer is remembered.
Atli Eðvaldsson was an Icelandic professional footballer who played as a midfielder, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential players to come from Iceland. He became very successful in the German Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf and Bayer Uerdingen.
Fourteen years ago, Dr. Andreas Turnsek met Atli in his home town of Düsseldorf. They became good friends, and now, five years after Atli's passing, Andreas will run tomorrow's Reykjavík marathon in his memory, wearing an official jersey bearing his name and image.
Darren spoke to Andreas about running to remember Atli.
