Today, RÚV English Radio is in Egilsstaðir.
The East Iceland Heritage Museum - https://www.minjasafn.is/english - preserves the history of the region by collecting and preserving things that reflect the society, culture and everyday life of its people.
One of the current exhibitions examines and celebrates the lives of two women, whose remains, likely dating from around 950, were found in Fjörður and Vestdalsheiði in 2021 and 2004 respectively.
The exhibition is also part of the series of three museums in East Iceland entitled Konur / Women.
Darren spoke to director Elsa Guðný Björgvinsdóttir.
