Today on RÚV English Radio, a fun day coming to Árbær Open Air Museum this Sunday.
On Sunday 17 August from 13:00 to 16:00, floral designers and members of Heimilisiðnaðarfélag Íslands (Handicraft Association of Iceland, HFÍ, https://www.heimilisidnadur.is/en) visit the museum (https://reykjavik.is/en/arbaer-open-air-museum).
Floral designers Blómdís and Jóndís will teach the design and arrangement of bouquets made from flowers that have been grown at Árbæjarsafn this summer.
Members of HFÍ will demonstrate live crafts, with focus on floral embroidery, used to decorate the skirt, apron and bodice of traditional women’s headdresses.
