RÚV English Radio
Episode 951 - TEXTILE MUSEUM, BLÖNDUÓS
Today, RÚV English Radio is once again in Blönduós.
The Textile Museum in Blönduós (https://www.textile.is/copy-of-halld%C3%B3rustofa) exhibits homemade wool and textile items, as well as Icelandic national costumes and artistic embroideries along with the tools and equipment used to produce them.
It was founded by the Women’s Union in East Húnavatnssýsla, and an important part of it is named after Halldóra Bjarnadóttir (1873-1981), a consultant for the National Farmers Union in Iceland for many years. She founded and operated the Wool and Textile College in South-Þingeyjarsýsla.
Darren met the museum manager Elín S. Sigurðardóttir.
RÚV English Radio is heard around the world and in Iceland, celebrating Icelandic culture, art, music, language, and much more.
